john: hana, so your 2003 TC shit has blown up recently what are your like thoughts and experiences with this new found group of ppl following you

hana: honestly, i don't know- ever since i was kid i thought it'd be cool to be like a big internet celebrity or something i was making youtube gaming videos as far back as like 2012 or something lol but by the time i actually started making serious music as hanahata i thought that'd realistically never actually happen it's weird to sort of throw out your dream and then suddenly achieve it by accident lol

john: yeah totally (bro im sooooo fucking boring as an interviewer)

hana: but honestly i do enjoy it. it's nice to be able to tweet and not have it fall into a void xD

john: its been awesome seeing you blow up and shit

hana: haha ty

john: everyone has dreams like that i find... i always wanted to be a big famous youtuber and shit

john (again): anyway that album or well those series of albums are you trying to push an idea or like opinion with them or is it just music for musics sake

hana: actually they do have some meaning... the 2003TC series explores 3 main themes

1. Funny car 

2. Mass-production of cars every year, consumerism yada yada 

3. My nostalgia for Nintendo's Wii U system, as evidenced by every sample on the original 2003TC being Wii U system music

john: cool cool, wii u is rad af

hana: wii u def fucks- wii u / 3ds era of nintendo are some of my fondest memories

john: moving on... 2003 tc is talked about sooo much already im not fucking doing that lmao

hana (refering to nintendo samples): in my main work i've also sampled from them extensively instant gratification samples wii u system music, cope samples tomodachi life, just want to go back samples brawl (all tracks from their album: girl on the internet- linked below)

john: your main work is really intriguing in its themes and shit-

girl on the internet is really good in the way it explores lack of a better word, paranoia for the future and and growing up and navigating this new, tech polluted world

hana: you worded it really well actually lol- goti also centers around the sort of stuff that can happen growing up on the internet with no supervision and how our current generation is having such a drastically different experience than the ones that came before it

john: oh yes got that haha- definitely theme music for a lost generation

John again: bullying (in high-school) then was like "i got a fucking wedgie" now its like "somebody in school created a impersonation acc of me on insta and said that im racist" or smtn

its so weird navigating school knowing you can be filmed but thats me going off topic lol

john: for girl on the interet what musically are your influences? in sound and shit

hana: well i'd say my main influences were definitely I'll Try Living Like This by death's dynamic shroud, deep dark trench by chris†††, and ستاره دار by دل- a bit of t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者's work as well, no specific albums really because it all sounds the same xD

also john: Ok lets fast forward a good few years, ur fucking 30, do you see yourself continuing music or pursuing anything creatively or do you not think that far ahead cause ive been thinking bout forever

hana: absolutely. i can't imagine myself holding a normal job- well, without doing creative stuff on the side

john: anything other than music creatively?

hana: i'm not sure really? i've experimented with all different sort of art formats

john: i could see author for you, you have good ideas

hana: haha no i suck at writing unless i format a novel like a text convo i'd never be able to xD but that'd just be ripping off TTYL

john: never heard of TTYL lol

hana: it was a book i read as a kid i only read it bc it had FUnny Swears, but it was an entire novel that was basically just a few teenage girls' chat logs (fictional ofc) cool concept i should re-read it now that i'm actually a teenager lol

john: rad

hana: i've recently been getting into making YTPs actually i've currently just been making like y'know dumb funny shit but i want to try to take the format of YTPs and make serious art out of it

john: that sounds cool, but how would you make YTPs into a serious format lmao???

hana: similar to deep dark trench by christtt, perhaps?

john: back to mindless paranoia do you have any visions of the future and shit

hana: there's three futures i can envision 

1 - i take up creative work as a full-time job 

2 - my creative work ends up not working out, and i simultaneously work a full-time job in something else while doing it on the side 

3 - i'm unable to hold a job and either live with my parents unemployed or homeless (probably the latter)

john: stay hopeful 💯 the bag will come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also john: i find it hard to stay hopeful for like HUMANITY

hana: it's definitely easy to have my doubts, as someone who is both autistic and transgender world seems to be working against me‼️ i agree humanity is already fucked we have no way of saving it really- that's why i never wanna have children

i don't want them to have to live in whatever state the world is in in the future

john: so our generation isint gonna do shit but our grandkids may do something or move planets or some shit lmao 

it sounds so weird saying it so loud

hana: ah yeah that does make sense

john: but its crazy cause its 100 percent in the realm of possibility, 

the future is so scary- but i cant help but think about it alll of the time 

i think its literally survival instinct to be paranoid and stuff 

growing up around tech is really weird because it warps the world around you- it warps reality- it scars you

 have you seen fucking 5 year olds on an ipad they know how to use it, they open up youtube and watch that shit and they know how to turn down call and messages- shit is freaky

but it is what is.
